Mind Your Mom!

Almost every May, when I sit down to write Homeward Bound, I write about Mother’s Day. And why not… it is a very special day for very special people.
 
My Mom used to tell me to do this and do that AND not to do this and not to do that.  ALL that I recall now is that she gave me very valuable advice—all the time!  Looking back on it, I can say she was, and still is, a very wise woman.   And now I have a loving mother-in-law too—double the wisdom! 
 
Time reveals, in fact, just about every caring Mother is a Wise Woman. I can see why we carve out a special day each year to acknowledge Moms.  So here is a shout out to all Mom’s – Happy Mother’s Day!!
 
Unfortunately, my Mom’s mother is no longer here with us.  I am sure that makes my mom very sad this time of year.  I am sure some of you reading this can relate and have similar stories.  For ALL those whose Mom is no longer with us, may you remember the best about them. In addition to that, there are also many who never knew their mother due to unfortunate circumstances. I bet someone played that roll in their life and they too deserve a Happy Mother’s Day!
Regardless, we can celebrate this Mother’s Day knowing Moms, both here and no longer with us, are special in more ways than we can count. 

And we cannot forget the young Moms who are unemployed or homeless during this pandemic...not too far from where I type this…

You may recall my team and I are on a mission to raise $100,000 for 360° kids. We do that by donating a portion of our income from home sales to this very worthy cause.
Right now, there are kids who do not have a roof over their heads, a comfortable bed or even the food basics. Mothers who are struggling to keep themselves and their children safe are most likely NOT thinking about their special day this month.  They are simply doing their best to love their children and provide anything they can.
